Life is swept along

Life is swept along,

next-to-nothing its span.

For one swept to old age

no shelters exist.

Perceiving this danger in death,

one should drop the world's bait

and look for peace.

The Buddha

This leaf fell from the Mahabodhi Tree growing at the Mahabodhi Temple in Bodh Gaya, India and is a direct descendant of the original tree, Ficus religiosa under which Siddhartha Guatama sat for 49 consecutive days circa 528 BCE and was enlightened.
